Software Development - Full-Stack - Data Science
Welcome to my portfolio. I am Tom Sterckx, an Applied Computer Science student who enjoys building clear, practical software solutions and learning by doing.

This page gives a clear overview of who I am, what I am looking for, and how to contact me.
I am currently looking for internship opportunities where I can grow in frontend or full-stack development and contribute to real projects.
I am currently focused on getting better at coding by building projects, learning from feedback, and improving my problem-solving skills.
I enjoy building complete features from interface to logic, working with Python, JavaScript, React, SQL, Laravel/PHP, and also exploring Unity/C# for interactive projects.
I value structure, reliability, and clear communication when working on projects.
I also enjoy exploring machine learning and deep learning, especially using Python to work with data and build models that can solve real-world problems.
I am Tom Sterckx, an Applied Computer Science student with a practical mindset, a calm approach, and a strong motivation to keep improving.
Role: Applied Computer Science Student
Location: Schaffen, Belgium
Languages: Dutch, English
I enjoy tabletop roleplaying, strategy card games like MTG, and worldbuilding. These hobbies strengthen creativity, planning, and decision-making.
I also spend time on model building, where patience and attention to detail are important. That mindset helps me stay focused when I work on technical tasks.
These interests keep me curious, creative, and consistent in how I learn.
I chose Applied Computer Science because it combines problem solving, logic, and the opportunity to build things that are actually useful.
I like the full process: analysing a problem, building a solution, testing it, and improving it until it works well. For me, coding often feels like solving a fun puzzle with a practical result.
My main goal is to grow into a strong full-stack developer, with a solid foundation in backend and frontend development.
I am also interested in a future path as a data scientist, where I can combine coding, analysis, and real-world impact.
I like to begin with clear structure: what needs to be built, what data is required, and how users will interact with it.
From there I focus on readable code, practical testing, and iterative improvements.
I work best with clear communication, shared expectations, and regular feedback moments.
Reliable delivery, detail awareness, and calm collaboration are the values I bring into team projects.
